Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform preventative and routine scheduled maintenance on the plant
  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance, breakdown of plant and machinery
  • Fault finding and problem-solving during equipment breakdowns
  • Dismantle, move, assemble, install, and align equipment and machinery
  • Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards, and codes
  • Ensure electrical reticulation is maintained in good working order
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Repair basic electrical circuitry and components and testing of units to evaluate electrical and mechanical operation
  • New installations, modifications, upgrade and repairs to machinery and systems
  • Maintain plant and equipment in a safe and acceptable overall condition
  • Mechanical and Electrical standby duties
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on the plant.
  • Adherence to Quality and Safety principles
  • Complete job cards timeously
  • Highlight and control any risks in the factory's control systems.

 

Keeping up to date with advances in technology in industry

 

Key requirements

 

  • Millwright trade Test (Section 13 and served apprenticeship).
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic systems
  • Minimum At least 5 years’ experience as an Artisan in a Food factory environment.
  • Strong electrical experience will be an advantage.
  • Willing to work shifts including working extra hours, overtime, standby and call outs.
  • Must have own reliable transport.
  • Computer literate
  • Must be a team player but able to work with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in English and an additional official language
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment and deadline driven
